The position mode determines whether a completed order opens a new position or closes an existing one. There are two main modes.
1.One-way Mode
In One-way mode, you can only hold one position direction (long or short) per future contract. Profits and losses are netted against each other. The "Reduce Only" order type is available to only decrease your position size without opening an opposing position.
2.Hedge Mode
In Hedge Mode, you can simultaneously hold both long and short positions on the same future contract. Profits and losses are tracked separately, allowing for hedging between opposing positions on the same future contract.
*You cannot change the position mode if you have any open positions or pending orders. Position mode changes apply to all futures.
